Reading is nightly homework that should be completed every single night. Filling out reading logs will go towards the student’s homework percentage. The only nights when reading is not assigned as homework are nights when there are holidays or events at Cooke. Please encourage your children to read and fill out their reading logs on a regular basis to instill good reading habits. I will check reading logs on Friday mornings.
When homework is missed, your child will get an OH MAN (missing assignment notice). This will inform you that they are missing an assignment and it should be turned in as soon as possible.
A healthy snack will be allowed in the classroom. One snack a day, that can be eaten while working and within 5 minutes is allowed. Please try to send a HEALTHY snack with your child; fruit, crackers, pretzels, granola bars...etc are good choices.
***Please remember that if your child is to be picked up, send a note. If your child is a permanent pick up (every single day) send a note at the beginning of the year and they will be placed on the permanent pick up list and you don't need to send one every day. A note needs to be sent, otherwise your child will be put on the bus at the end of the day.
We have a behavior system in my classroom. Each student starts their day on a GREEN card. For breaking a class rule, they move to a YELLOW card, and for continuing to break rules, they will move to RED card. Once they get to a RED card, they will sign the red book. When the red book is signed 3 times, their parent will be notified. Please ask your children each day how they behaved by asking them what card they stayed on or moved to daily. That will allow you to stay informed about your child’s behavior.

Your child will have a take home folder, one side will be items to leave at home and the other will be items to bring back to school. Please make sure to check your child’s folder nightly for important notes that come home. Also make sure to empty out their folders nightly so they don’t begin to overflow.
Along with the take home folder, your child will be bringing home their assignment notebook with important due dates and daily homework assignments written in. This serves as a communication tool with you and your child about nightly homework assignments and important announcements.
You will be getting progress reports and report cards in a sealed folder. Please take the report out, sign in the appropriate blank on the folder, and send the empty folder back with your child.
Dress code will be enforced this year. Please make sure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform colors; blue, black, white, navy, or Cooke top with black, khaki, or blue bottoms. There are no thin-strapped tank tops allowed or flip-flop sandals. On Fridays, jeans can be worn with Cooke t-shirts.
Most assignments or notes to be signed by parents will have a due date attached to them. Please note these due dates and be sure to turn everything in before or on the due date.
***For every day a project is late, 5 points will be taken off the total score.
Leer es los deberes de todas las noches que deben ser completados todos y cada uno de los noches. Llenando troncos que lee irán hacia porcentaje de los deberes del estudiante. Las únicas noches al leer no son asignadas como los deberes son las noches cuando hay las vacaciones o los acontecimientos en Cooke. Favorezca por favor a sus niños a leer y llenar sus troncos de lectura para inculcar con regularidad hábitos buenos de lectura. Verificaré troncos que lee el viernes por la mañana.
Cuando los deberes son perdidos, su niño conseguirá un AH HOMBRE (perdiendo nota de tarea). Esto le informará que pierden una tarea y deben ser girado en tan pronto como posible.
Un bocado sano será permitido en el aula. Un bocado por día, que puede ser comido al trabajar y dentro de 5 minutos es permitido. Trate por favor para enviar un bocado SANO con su niño; fruta, las galletas, las galletas, barras de cereal. ..etc es elecciones buenas.
Tenemos un sistema de conducta en mi aula. Cada estudiante comienza su día en una tarjeta VERDE. Para romper una regla de clase, ellos mueven a una tarjeta AMARILLA, y para continuar para romper reglas, ellos moverán a la tarjeta ROJA. Una vez que ellos llegan a una tarjeta ROJA, ellos firmarán el libro rojo. Cuando el libro rojo es firmado 3 veces, su padre será notificado.
